Switching your checking account to University of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU) has never been easier.
You can make the switch in two easy steps:
Step 1: Open a University of Michigan Credit Union checking account.
You can obtain a checking account application by visiting any branch, by calling our Member Service Phone Center at 734-662-8200, or by clicking here to request one be sent to you.
Step 2: Fill out forms.
Once your UMCU checking account is open, you can begin the switch.

Direct Deposit form: Complete this form and send it to your present employer with a voided check.
Automatic Payment form: Submit this form to all company(s) that are
withdrawing from your previous checking account.
Once your Direct Deposit and Automatic Payments have been set-up with UMCU, and
all of your checks have cleared from your previous checking account, you can
close that account.
Close a Former Account form: Complete this form and mail it to the financial institution that had your previous checking account.
