Use the American Express Program: Travel Funds Direct

Members can order foreign currency notes and have the currency shipped directly to their residence or to the credit union for pickup.

Details:

  • Request foreign currency in person at any office or via faxed, signed request. Send a fax request to 734-996-4522, ATTN: Member Service Phone Center.
  • Currency orders must be paid in advance.
  • Members pay the shipping cost and a $5 processing fee.
  • There are various shipping options and costs, including first class mail, 2nd day express, next day priority, and Saturday delivery.
  • The following foreign notes ship the same day, Monday-Friday, if received by American Express before 2:00 p.m.: Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, European Euro, Japanese Yen, Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Mexican Nuevo Peso, Swedish Kroner.
  • All other foreign notes (such as Chinese Yuan, New Zealand Dollar, etc.) are special order and require 1 - 2 days to process.
