Phony E-Mail Sent to U of M E-Mail Addresses

There is a new phony "phishing" e-mail targeting umich.edu e-mail addresses. This email states it is from the Transfers & Payments Department at U of M Credit Union and states that the “customer” needs to update their information or their transfers and payments will be suspended.

After you click on the link it takes you what looks like the MemberNet home page. You are asked to enter your account number and access code and then you're taken to a page that asks for your name, address, debit card number, expiration date, social security number and CVV code. DO NOT ENTER ANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION. If you have entered account information, please call UMCU at 734-662-8200 or 800-968-8628 and we will advise you further.

A phishing e-mail attempts to gather account information for illegal purposes. U of M Credit Union is aware of this new phishing attempt.

Remember: UMCU would never send an e-mail to you asking for any type of account information.
