Shop Local. Give Local.
We’re kicking off our 9th annual Shop Local Give Local campaign! This year, the University of Michigan Credit Union is teaming up with Border 2 Border Trail during the holiday season to provide an opportunity for UMCU members to show their local pride by shopping and dining for a good cause.
How It Works
From November 1 through December 31, 2024, every time our members make a purchase with their UMCU Visa Platinum Optimum or Visa Cash Rewards credit card at a local participating store, restaurant, or business, UMCU matches one percent of the total sales, (up to a grand total of $7,000) and donates it to the B2B Trail!*

About the Charity
The B2B Trail is a Washtenaw County initiative led by Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission and is made possible by support from the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative, the non-profit trail partner. The trail is a 35-mile, 10-foot wide paved trail that is ADA accessible and stretches across 6 different trail corridors in Washtenaw County. B2B Trail allows members of Washtenaw County to connect with nature, active living, and nearby communities.
Its mission is to enrich the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing:
• An exceptional park system
• Preserving the county’s culture
• Conserving ecological resources
The B2B Trail initiative is led by the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC), but is the product of ongoing efforts of many communities, organizations, and volunteers. While the current trail is 35 miles, B2B Trail plans to add 55 more miles to the network!
Shop For Your Chance to Win $1,000
As an added bonus, UMCU is also giving away $1,000 to seven lucky members who make a purchase with their card at participating businesses during the campaign period. All you have to do is shop locally at one of the participating businesses, and you're automatically entered for a chance to win!*
SHOP AND DINE LOCALLY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Thank you to our participating shops, restaurants, and boutiques for supporting UMCU’s efforts to have a positive impact on the B2B Trail.
Look for the Shop Local Give Local decal in participating shop windows and use your UMCU Visa Credit Card for your purchases.
