We invest in the communities we serve.

At UMCU, we believe in supporting organizations and events that keep our communities strong. Every one of our team members is committed to making a difference every day.

Every year, our summer interns are tasked with creating a meaningful way to give back to the community. In past years our summer interns have launched a food drive benefiting Food Gatherers, a Washtenaw County-based non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. During this drive, team UMCU donated more than 685 pounds of food – equivalent to 570 meals – for families in need. The drive concluded with a day of action, providing UMCU team members an opportunity to work at the Food Gatherers warehouse, preparing food for delivery!
American Heart Association Heart Walk: Every year, UMCU partners with Michigan Medicine to raise funds for the American Heart Association to help fight heart disease and stroke in the community. Our team members and UMCU members help contribute to the fundraising as well as participate in the annual Washtenaw County Heart Walk/Run.

United Way Stuff the Bus: This year, UMCU donated $1,500 worth of school supplies to United Way of Washtenaw County’s Stuff the Bus Event!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 9th annual Shop Local Give Local campaign! Because of your enthusiastic efforts to support local businesses, UMCU was able to donate to the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative and support their efforts to expand and maintain the B2B Trail across Washtenaw County.

We look forward to shopping with you this coming holiday season!

Our Toys for Mott and Hurley donation drive has come to an end. We want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone for their contributions and helping make this year special for so many families! We appreciate every toy and dollar donated, time dedicated to shopping, as well as every mention of the drive to members, family, and friends! Every year we look forward to coming together to brighten the season for the children and families spending the holidays in the hospital and we couldn’t do it without your generosity and support!
